Dubai Launches Online Permit System for Tourist Boating
Tourists in Dubai can now easily get the UAE's waters thanks to a new permit launched by the Dubai Maritime Authority (DMA).
The authority, which is part of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, will issue recreational boating permits to holders of licenses issued by International Maritime Organization (IMO) member countries, including Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, Europe, the United States, and other IMO member states. The permit applies to recreational vessels such as jet skis and speedboats.
Under the new system, tourists can submit their existing national licenses online for verification. Once verified, the DMA will issue a local recreational vessel permit allowing them to operate boats for leisure, tourism, and sporting activities.
