Public and private schools and kindergartens in the UAE which are following the Ministry of Education's curriculum system are now preparing to welcome the start of the 2025-2026 new school year on Monday, August 25.
More than one million students are about to return to campus, including over 25,000 new students entering public schools for the first time. With all teaching staff having fully returned to work last week, schools have completed their final preparations before the start of the term.
The Ministry of Education's professional development program held before the start of school attracted more than 23,000 teachers and administrative staff. The program provided approximately 170 hours of training through 110 specialized workshops, covering teachers, educational administrators, and support staff. These initiatives are an important part of the Ministry's strategy to enhance the professional competence of staff and improve the quality of educational practices.
The UAE Ministry of Education announced via its official social media platforms a plan to implement on-site monitoring in private schools nationwide. This plan aims to ensure the mandatory teaching requirements of Arabic, Islamic Education, and Social Concepts curricula are fully implemented in kindergartens and lower grades starting from the 2025-2026 academic year. This move reflects the Ministry's firm commitment to strengthening national identity and UAE values from the earliest stages of education.
Engineer Mohammed Al Qassim, Deputy Minister of Education, stated that private schools will undergo systematic inspections to verify the implementation of teaching standards related to national identity courses, focusing on Arabic, Islamic Education, and Social Concepts. He noted that inspection teams and professional offices will continuously monitor teaching quality indicators and learning outcomes.
He emphasized that compliance with these standards will directly contribute to cultivating identity and values, while also enhancing students' language abilities and cognitive levels.
The Deputy Minister highlighted that the Ministry is working to strengthen supervision of private schools to ensure teaching quality meets strict standards. He added that implementation guidelines will be distributed to clarify various mechanisms. These comprehensive measures demonstrate the Ministry's commitment to improving education quality and consolidating national identity, aiming to provide students with a modern learning environment that equips them with essential skills to adapt to the labor market and life.
He further explained that supervision will follow a systematic framework, including on-site visits, follow-up committees, and evaluation reports to ensure effective implementation. This initiative is part of an overall plan to cultivate a new generation proud of their mother tongue, steadfast in faith and social values, deeply rooted in culture, thereby enhancing their influence in future academic and social fields.
The Ministry of Education has carefully arranged statutory holidays and rest days to balance students' learning needs with teachers' and students' rest time.
