The Abu Dhabi Supreme Court made a ruling in favor of an employee, ordering the company with which he had signed a three-year labor contract to pay compensation exceeding 1.54 million dirhams.

The employee filed a labor lawsuit against the employer in Abu Dhabi, demanding payment of approximately 1.595 million dirhams in unpaid wages and 130,000 dirhams in annual leave allowance, thus initiating legal proceedings.

In the complaint, the employee stated that he worked for the company under a contract signed on December 26, 2022, with a basic salary of 55,000 dirhams and a total salary of 75,000 dirhams (basic salary + 20,000 dirhams allowance).

The company denied the plaintiff's claims, arguing that the contract submitted was forged, that the actual salary was only 54,000 dirhams, and requested the court to dismiss the lawsuit.

The trial court appointed a financial expert to review the documents submitted by both parties. The expert confirmed in the report that the employee indeed had unpaid amounts due.

In April this year, the court ruled that the company must pay 1,412,537 dirhams in unpaid wages and 130,000 dirhams in leave allowance (a total of 1,542,537 dirhams).

However, the employer subsequently appealed. In June this year, the appellate court rejected the appeal and upheld the original judgment.
